About Sam

I've been in love with technology since the age of 7 when I played my first text-based adventure game on the Commodore 64. When I was 12 years old, I built my first computer, and have been obsessed ever since. However, the real passion came when I learned how to code. In high school, I was lucky enough to take my first coding courses in C++ which inspired me to major in Computer Science at Wheeling Jesuit University.

At Wheeling Jesuit, I was subjected to extremely rigorous course work in computer science and math along with all the strict humanities requirements that come with Jesuit coursework. With small course sizes and extremely dedicated professors, I was able to hone my specialty in Web Development, and have never looked back since.

Since graduating college in 2009, I've been lucky enough to work for some really great organizations as a full time employee and/or contractor including: Johns Hopkins University (5 years), Leidos, NASA, and National Institute of Health. This has allowed me to hone my skills in a professional capacity and enjoy a prosperous career as a Web Developer/Software Engineer.

In my free time, I like to travel, practice my Spanish, and play sports, namely boxing. I also always seem to be involved with some type of technical project at home, such as running my own servers or wiring my home with 'smart' technologies.
